Location: Ueno Station
Closing time: 5pm
We were lucky to be given a short break before school officially starts. Thus since it is the cherry blossom season, there is no reason not to be visiting Ueno Park! It is one of the most popular cherry blossom spots in Japan. Not only is it convenient to get there, the density of flowers is just insane!
Before heading in straight for the Hanami, we decided to also visit the Ueno Zoo. The price point for the zoo is not only affordable, but for a zoo with such a huge array of animals, it sure is worth it.
The key highlights of the zoo are the Pandas and the Aye Aye.
I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking!
Definitely, Ri Ri and Shin Shin is the main attraction at Ueno Zoo. Super adorable, the locals cannot stop saying kawaii. We couldn't get a good shot of the Aye Aye because they were in the dark.

And the list above is not exhaustive!
I would in summary say that the Ueno Zoo is a good addition to your itinerary, but it is not a MUST-GO. Even though I personally feel that the price point of the place is reasonable, it is not exhilarating and overwhelming.
But Ueno is definitely a MUST-GO place when it comes to Hanami.
